After decades of vigorous development, China’s display industry has transformed from a former follower into a global leader of the display sector. According to data released by CODA, the global new display industry scale grew by 17% in 2024, reaching USD 219.8 billion. China’s new display industry scale accounted for half of the global total, hitting USD 108 billion. Driven by emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, new energy vehicles and the metaverse, the display industry is embracing unprecedented development opportunities. Diversified technical routes such as LCD, OLED, Mini/Micro LED, silicon-based OLED and quantum dot display are developing in parallel, injecting sustained innovative momentum into the industry.
